These questions are addressed in a new informational video created as a part of the European Institute’s project „Fostering of legal migration from Moldova and Georgia to Bulgaria“, funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027.
The video aims to raise awareness among the third country nationals about the opportunities and conditions for legal migration to Bulgaria and the EU. The video emphasizes the risk of illegal migration, including unsafe working conditions, the absence of contracts, limited access to healthcare, and difficulties in seeking protection from institutions due to fear of arrest or deportation. In some cases, migrants may also become vulnerable to exploitation or human trafficking.
In contrast, legal migration provides access to secure and fairly paid employment, protection of labour rights, healthcare services, and opportunities for long-term residence and personal development. The video also emphasizes the role of bilateral agreements between Bulgaria and Moldova and Georgia, which facilitate and streamline procedures for regulated labour migration.
This video is a part of a broader informational campaign, aimed at increasing awareness among citizens of Moldova and Georgia about opportunities for legal migration to Bulgaria.
